Product Overview

The ThinLine Flexible Filly Grazing Muzzle is designed to be softer, lighter, and less restrictive than traditional cage style muzzles. It allows horses, ponies, and drafts to enjoy turnout with reduced grass intake, supporting healthy weight management and reducing the risk of laminitis, colic, and obesity.

Constructed from a durable, pliable polymer, the muzzle is gentle on the skin, lips, and teeth, while remaining strong, UV resistant, and safe for daily use.

Key Features

  • No rubbing or chafing
  • Soft, flexible material that is gentle on the mouth
  • Lightweight and non-restrictive
  • Durable, UV resistant polymer
  • Safe for use with all waterers, including automatic systems
  • Well ventilated design
  • Works best with the ThinLine Flexible Breakaway Halter

Why Use a Grazing Muzzle?

Controlled grazing can help prevent:

  • Overconsumption of nutrient-rich grass
  • Excessive weight gain
  • Laminitis
  • Colic
  • Obesity

Grazing throughout the day supports digestive health by keeping stomach acids balanced. This muzzle allows horses to benefit from turnout while limiting intake safely and comfortably.

Fitting Instructions

A dedicated, well-fitting breakaway turnout halter is recommended.

  1. Use the included paper ties or string to determine the correct attachment holes.
  2. Attach the two triangle cut fins to the halter's side rings.
  3. Attach three fins to the noseband and three to the chin band.
  4. Ensure the muzzle sits close to, but not touching, the horse's nose. Adjust chin fins if needed.
  5. Once satisfied with the fit, replace paper ties with the included cable ties.
  6. Trim excess fin material above the top hole being used.

If the horse attempts to eat from the sides, check:

  • Muzzle height (raise if too low)
  • Even spacing of fins
  • Correct muzzle size
