The Shires Jointed Cheltenham Gag Bit is a useful bit for a strong horse that goes with it's head too low and is often seen on horses in fast work.
It acts on the bars, lips and tongue and has a strong upwards action on the corners of the mouth while still giving some poll pressure.
The 'running' section of the bridle's cheekpieces act in a strong upwards direction to lift the head. It can be used with two sets of reins to give a milder action.
