The Korsteel Rubber Jointed Tom Thumb Pelham Bit combines the action of a snaffle with the additional control of a curb, making it a useful choice for horses that need a little more control than a standard snaffle provides.
The thick rubber-covered, single-jointed mouthpiece offers a warmer and softer feel than plain stainless steel, while helping to spread pressure over a wider area of the mouth. The shorter Tom Thumb cheeks provide less leverage than a traditional long-shank Pelham, giving a milder curb action.
It can be ridden with two reins, allowing the snaffle and curb actions to be used independently, or with Pelham roundings for use with a single rein. A curb chain is included.
