Korsteel Abbey Jointed American Gag

The Korsteel Abbey Jointed American Gag is a strong leverage bit designed for horses that can become powerful, pull or require greater control than a conventional snaffle provides.

It features a single-jointed stainless-steel mouthpiece combined with distinctive long sliding American gag cheeks. When rein pressure is applied, the sliding cheek design increases leverage and introduces poll pressure, encouraging the horse to lighten in the hand and respond more readily to the rider. Abbey describes the American gag as having a very strong leverage action.

The single-jointed mouthpiece applies pressure across the tongue and bars, while the long cheeks provide considerably more leverage than a standard snaffle or shorter-shanked bit.
