Broad bran is traditionally given as a mash for resting, sick, or old horses. When prepared in this way, it also works as a laxative. Our high quality Broad Bran is suitable to be fed as a traditional 'bran mash' or as a 'straight' added to the normal daily ration. Bran is high in phosphorous so when feeding Bran we recommend that you also feed a calcium suppliment along side it to balance the calcium / phosphourous ratio. Bran can also be used for making a poultice.
