Why is a Kitemark important?

A Kitemark shows that a helmet is tested frequently, going over and above the standard requirements.

Standards (such as PAS 015:2011) are mandatory, but quality marks are voluntary and demonstrate going over and beyond the minimum testing frequency.

They require every single batch of helmets to be tested several times after they have been produced, before they are allowed to be released for sale, plus annual auditing and sample testing.
