What is a safety standard?

A safety standard is a set of strict performance requirements that helmets must pass. These tests look at a range of scenarios such as impact absorption, crush resistance, penetration, harness strength, and stability.

Each standard has its own criteria, with some having a higher standard of pass requirement that others. Not every standard is equal

The main standards are:

PAS 015:2011 (UK)

EN 1384:2023 (EU)

ASTM F1163-23 (USA)

SNELL E2021
