The Final Tips

Recently, Founder and CEO of evoke, David Mitson, and Technical Director, Helen Riley, were invited to speak at a safety webinar hosted by Animalweb.

  1. Ensure that the helmet you are choosing is suitable for your chosen discipline
  2. Only buy a helmet if you have had it professionally fitted and never purchase second-hand
  3. Check the label – does it pass the minimum requirements, or more rigorous testing?
  4. Don’t assume that expensive means safe – often, the more expensive helmets might pass lower standards than a more affordable option
  5. Regularly inspect your helmet for signs of damage or wear and tear
  6. Always remember to replace your helmet after any fall or between 1-3 years dependent on use.
  7. Don’t just wear your helmet when riding, remember 44% of accidents happen on the ground.
